I interviewed Emily Irene Fertig (Lead Vocalist)!!!!!

Here are the questions I asked her and her responce is right under it:

1. What inspired you to play music?

Music was always a part of my life, from a time when I was young. I learned early on that I had an artistic personality and I am always being inspired by my surroundings. So it was pretty natural for me to end up in music.

2. How has music changed your life?
Music has always been a part of my life, inspiring me and getting me through hard times. On the other hand, my band, Shine Bright Baby has changed my life completely. Music as a career is vastly different then music as a hobby. There are so many more facts to it that you need to be able to understand.
3. What bands do you listen to and how have they shaped your music?
I am always listening to something different each time I listen to my ipod. I navigate towards female vocalists in music. I love Tegan and Sara, Shiny Toy Guns, and lately Britney Spears new album (its a masterpiece!). I love a good hard hitting melody with a thumping groove. I am sucker for dance music because I love to move. Thus, I think that dancey/anthemic sounds shows in our music.
4. What advice do you have for others that want to pursue in music as their career?
If you want a career in music know what you are getting into. Learn everything you need to know about the music industry like it was on the back of your hand. Study how to be the best at what you are. Then be prepared to work your tail off and make friends with everyone you meet. That's the best advice I can give to all you music lovers out there.

5. Where did you get the idea for the name of your band?
'Shine Bright Baby' comes from a passage in Phillipians 2 where it says to shine brightly as stars in the universe. I always loved the idea of light and us being lights for Christ in a dark world.
6. What do you want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?
Hm, I don't know! I am under 5 foot 2 inches.. Not that it's anything to be proud of (haha)

7. What is racing in your mind before you go on stage?

I just try to keep my mindset off myself. It's easy to be completely focused on yourself right before walking onstage. I think about the kids and how much I love plus appreciate them. I think about honoring God. I think people can sense the drive you get when you are onstage and about to preform the greatest song you have ever written.

Shine Bright Baby is not just any ordinary band because they have one thing on their minds and it is the fans. You might ask yourself: "What can I the fan do to help the people that love and support me with music that makes everyday a little brighter?" It is very simple because all you have to do is go on their facebook page: Shine Bright Baby and like their page. That is a small step of appreciation, but a great first step none the less.

Here are the questions I asked him and his responce is right below them:

1. what inspired you to play music?
Jesus Christ and just straight up life!

2. how has music changed your life?
It has in sooo many ways!!!. It has brought me to connect with tons of people all over the states and make great friendships/ relationships (haha)

3. what bands do you listen to and how have they shaped your music?
I listen to many different artists. Everything from jazz to dubstep and even screamo (haha) some of my favorite bands are Family Force 5, For Today, and The Spice Girls!

4. what advice do you have for others that want to pursue in music as their career?
Well it comes down to hard work, period. Work hard and dont be lazy. If its meant to be, it is meant to be :) Always do it for the right reasons: dont let drugs and alcohol get in your way!

5. where did you get the idea for the name of your band?
Jakub's dad used to answer his phone with "heyhihello" and so that became the name of the band :)

6. what do you want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?
That I do everything I do for my beliefs and faith in Jesus Christ :)

7. what is racing your mind before you go on stage?
Just trying to plug my keyboards in the right way and staying positive. Also, knowing why im doing what im doing and how I can do the best job possible, and also baby kittens.

Heyhihello will be a pop sensation and all you have to do is listen to them, go to their concerts, and like their facebook page. This will allow you to be a part of the next big thing and who knows you can even be their best friend if you try hard enough.

Interview with Chris Vuoncino (Vocals, Guitar) of Shake That Bear

Here are the members of the band:

Brandon- Lead Vocals
Sean- Lead Guitar, Backing Vocals
Chris- Rhythm Guitar, Backing Vocals
Jim- Bass
Frank- Drums
Here are the questions I asked the them and they responded right under them:

1. What inspired you to play music?

I've always loved music since I was very young. My dad played the drums and he loved rock and roll. Thus, I grew up around music and when I was 18 I started playing music. I decided that I was tired of just listening to the constant sound of different music around me and so I decided to make my own music.

2. How has music changed your life?

Music has meant more to me than words could ever express, it has always been there for me. It is the blood in my veins and the air in my lungs. It hasn't changed my life because music has defined it to be something more then just the will to go after money.

3. What bands do you listen to and how have they shaped your music?

Brand New is my absolute favorite band, but as I have grown I have definitely become more interested in classic acts like the Beatles, Joe Jackson, Elvis Costello, the bands who really began rock and roll. I did grow up with the current "emo/ post hardcore" scene so bands like: Boy Sets Fire, Propagandhi, Every Time I Die are influences that I grew up with that go into Shake That Bear music for me where my band mates are younger draw more from current acts like A Day To Remember, Woe Is Me, and Asking Alexandria, so it makes a somewhat interesting mix.

4. What advice do you have for others that want to pursue in music as their career?

The best of advice to really keep your eyes open to the bands that are successful and be weary of people who are willing to take advantage of young bands. Fortunately, I got great experience as a roadie to an act that was signed and until you live through some things you are going to make mistakes, but keep going and always be yourself.

5. Where did you get the idea for the name of your band?

The name of our band is a funny story because there is an amateur porno of the same name and the hold the web domain. Our original singer showed us the video and at first it was a running joke to name the band after it, but we eventually couldn't think of anything better and it's now the name we use.

6. What do you want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?

I am not sure how to answer this cause I unfortunately haven't met too many fans yet, although I'm hoping I get to on tour. I guess I want them to know that I am really passionate about what I do, and that more than anything I wholeheartedly appreciate every single fan we get!

7. What is racing your mind before you go on stage?

Mostly I worry about everyone else in the band. Most of the band hasn't even been on stage five times yet in their whole lives, so every show has been a new adventure for all of us as we grow. As I start setting up I just get excited, I am a bit of an attention whore and I have always felt comfortable on stage.

8. How has being in a different band, helped or hurt your new band?

Having two bands helps me express different emotions and show my range of musical interests. They both offer different writing processes, and interactions between members. I also manage both projects, which I would like to take on other bands at some points so it teaches me different ways of promoting and releasing projects, as well as handling different egos.

9. If you could describe your life in one word, what would it be and why?

My life in one word: Fantabulous. I had to make up a word for myself.

Shake That Bear is anything but ordinary because they live life on the edge and the story behind their name is very interesting and really goes out side the box or normality. So take a few minutes of your life to give Shake That Bear a chance and listen to the creative music they offer.

Interview with The Home Front

Here are the members of the band:

Tyler Shake- Vocals
Andrew Helie- Vocals
Jacob Harvey- Guitar
Gabe Ramos- Guitar
Chase Griffin- Guitar
Roman Zambruski-Bass
Joey Ladogana- Drum

Here are the questions I asked them and they responded right under them:

1. What inspired you to play music?

We were always a group of friends who's friendship was based off of our love for music and our second great love: skateboarding. We all have pasts that have their ups/downs and the main reason we got through them is because of the music we listened to. Ours, plus the favorite bands we listened to at the time. We honestly are here to pay the love forward to our fans and help people with their problems. Thus, help them progress and become the people they always wanted to become, but were scared what their family/relatives might think.

2. How has music changed your life?

It has formed us to these molds that we find now by starting to de-conform from the rest of the music scene. Even on a personal level it's made us better people, by enabling us to meet people who are great musicians and the nicest people that we have ever known.
On the contrary, it has also showed us the people we DONT want to be: cocky or shit-talking kids that have nothing better to do than to waste peoples time with senseless drama.

3. What bands do you listen to and how have they shaped your music?

If we listed all of them we'd be here all day (haha)
The main bands collectively we all listen to would consist of: Whitechapel, A Day To Remember, Periphery, The Air I Breathe, I Am Abomination, our local friends band: Adaliah, The Contortionist, For The Fallen Dreams, Volumes, Misery Signals, The Acacia Strain And Structures.
4. What advice do you have for others that want to pursue in music as their career?

Bottom line: "Have Fun and Don't Be A Dick". Just love what you do and do what you love :)

5. Where did you get the idea for the name of your band?

I (Tyler) thought it up one day when I was thinking of the message for the band. (To help people who need someone there to support them in times of need.) usually the occasions like that are at home. For me they were sitting in my room, Going though wave after wave of depression.
So with the battle you fight to maintain your happiness, I just though "The Home Front" fit perfectly.

6. What do you want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?

That we care about them and even the smallest things to help promote us is GREATLY appreciated by all of us here at THF. We Love You All ♥
7. What is racing your mind before you go on stage?

Just reminding ourselves to keep our cool and have fun. Thats what really counts to us and the crowd can tell when you're having fun. The energy is positive when the crowd reation is great, the pit goes nuts, everyone eyes is on you, and you have to remember to have fun. Don't ever leave your fans hanging either because it is annoying to see other bands do that. (haha)

The Home Front is not like any other band because they have you: the fans as their #1 priority. The Home Front does a variety of music that allows you to be your own individual, which to them is priceless :)

Interview with Travis Carp (vocalist) for Am I Alive!!!!!!

Here are the members of the band:

Travis Carp - Vocals
Brandon Adcock - Guitar
Glen Morse - Guitar
Zackery Elmhorst - Bass
John Barcellano - Drums/Programming

I interviewed Travis Carp (vocalist) for Am I Alive and below is the questions I asked him and he responded right under them:
1. what inspired you to play music?

Well I started playing music when I was 16 and my girlfriend at the time played guitar. So I thought it would be cool if I learned how to play guitar so I could impress her. (haha) Singing was a different story because my mom always sung around the house and singing grew on me over time.
2. how has music changed your life?
I honestly don’t know where I would be without music in my life. It has really helped carry me through some rough times I’ve faced in my life. It has also helped shape me into the person I have become today.
3. what bands do you listen to and how have they shaped your music?

Bands such as Saosin, Lower Definition, Life One Repeat, Versa Emerge, Armor For Sleep, and Underoath really give me a great perception of how originality can really be made into something amazing plus beautiful. Am I Alive really tries to look outside of the box, just like all of these bands have.

4. what advice do you have for others that want to pursue in music as their career?
Honestly, do what you feel. Music is about expression, but it seems that bands have forgot that recently. A lot of bands now a days fall into the same pool of one another and get swallowed up because they don’t stand out! Make a name for yourself and step out of the box. Find yourself!!!!!

5. where did you get the idea for the name of your band?

Me and our guitarist Glen Morse actually named the band name. I wanted a name that could really explain who we were as a band and what we stood for. The name came from an idea I had when the economy started going under and things really started to change, especially people. I wanted something that could be a state of mind that people could ask themselves “am I truly alive?”, “Am I going to be the light in everyones darkness?”, “Am I going to show people what it truly feels to be alive?” It’s just a positive name that we want everyone to enjoy the finer things in life. That’s what the name means to us.

6. what do you want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?
This is actually the first band I have ever just been the vocalist for. I have played an instrument and I sung back ups for every other band I have been in.
7. what is racing your mind before you go on stage?
So much races in my mind before I hit the stage; The adrenaline plu excitement of doing something that I love, all of the amazing fans that sing the lyrics and enjoying the music that we put our hearts into. Plus, that I am truly blessed to have 4 of the best guys I have ever known to share a stage with.

Am I Alive sing songs that have Alternative/Rock/Pop basically a little bit of everything that makes people want to go on youtube and listen in to their lyrics. Travis is an amazing vocalist because he has one thing on his mind and that is to make you (the fans) happy as can be!!!!!
