Interview with Set It Off!!!!! :)

Here are the members of the band:

Cody Carson - Vocals
Dan Clermont - Guitar and Vocals
Zach Something - Guitar
Austin Kerr - Bass
Maxx Danziger - Drum

Cody Carson is speaking for the band and so below are his responses to the questions:

Here you go, all answers are by vocalist Cody Carson:

1. What inspired you guys to play music?

I grew up in a musical family. My mom and dad were in a band together called
The Fall Guys & A Gal and would travel in a bus, on which I would join them.

I would get to see them perform every night and it inspired me to be a musician
as well. My mom can sing and so can my sister, so I always wanted to as
well. I continually worked at it because I wanted to be a part of a live band as well.

2. How has music changed your life?

If I did not have meaningful lyrics in my life I would probably be clinically
insane. Music helped me through so many hard times and it's lyricists such
as Jordan Pundik, Reese Roper, and Matt Thiessen inspired the style and
reason I write lyrics the way I do.

3. What bands do you guys listen to and how have they shaped your music?

We all listen to a variety of music. I currently listen to a lot of Fall Out
Boy, A Day To Remember, and Bayside. I really respect the nuances in their
songs and how they can make a simple song elegantly complex without you
realizing it.

4. What advice do you guys have for others that want to pursue in music as
their career?

Be prepared to give everything up so you can make this work for yourself
because if you do not have the drive and work ethic to compete with literally
hundreds of thousands of bands to rise to the top, then this is not for you.
You also have to be extremely persistent and know that not everything will
go your way in this industry.

5. Where did you guys get the idea for the name of your band?

We are all big Fall Out Boy fans and Austin was listening to "Calm Before
The Storm" by them and it had the lyric "Set It Off" repeatedly throughout
the song.
We all took a liking to it because of the fact that it is also a
phrase people will say every now and then in conversations. So, if someone
who likes our band hears someone say "Set It Off" they will think of us and
spread the word of our band to everyone they know.

6. What do you guys want your fans to know about you that they might not
know already?

When I was growing up I got picked on, beat up, thrown into lockers, spit
on, and outcast from various social groups.
It was not because I was an
asshole (I was not one) I genuinely wanted friends. I just did not fit in and it
was situations like that, that helped me grow into the person I am today.
I
treat people how I want to be treated and write songs for those who need a
boost like I did. We are all normal people who live lives just as you do and
we want to meet you.

7. What are you guys thinking when you are on stage?

How amazing it is that these people dropped everything they were doing to
come see us live and scream the words to our songs at us because of a
genuine passion for our music. I feel elated when anyone so much as moves
their mouth in the same pattern as mine when I sing. I love my career. :)

If you want to be immersed in music that takes your worries away, while leaving you in a state of complete peaceful serenity then I would listen to: SET IT OFF because that is exactly what they do. They help the worst situations of your teen years disappear as if it never happened. LIKE THEIR BAND PAGE AND TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO LIKE IT TOO :)

Interview with Restrayned!!!

Here are the members of the band:

Johnny: Guitars/Vocals
Tony: Guitars/Vocals
Chris: Bass
Marc: Drums

Below are the bands group responces for the questions I asked them:

1. What inspired you guys to play music?

We all started playing music very early on in life. Everything from classical guitars to woodwind instruments, even to pots and pans! It was not until the 80’s explosion of heavy metal that got us all interested. The powerful sounds and huge stage shows of bands like KISS, Van Halen, Dokken, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Rush and Yes inspired us to get serious about playing music.

2. How has music changed your life?

Music has just always been a part of our lives. Music essentially has kept us from going insane and has allowed us to express in a tangible form of what is on our minds. Also, what we are feeling at any given point in time. We are constantly writing new songs and ideas in our heads. It gives us a much needed outlet from all of the trials and tribulations of our day to day lives. Playing music is like a fountain of youth... you never grow up!

3. What bands do you guys listen to and how have they inspired your music?

Early on it was Kiss, Van Halen, Dokken, Motley Crue, Iron Maiden, Queensryche, Scorpions, Judas Priest, etc. The bands of the 80's helped shape us as singers and players. We currently listen to various styles of music, such as: Black Label Society, Alice in Chains, Alter Bridge, Disturbed, Bullets for My Valentine, Opeth, Slipknot, Foo Fighters, and even some black metal stuff. Everyone has different tastes, which is what makes this band work. We each bring influences from all over the musical map and end up in one destination that is uniquely: Restrayned.

4. What advice do you guys have for others that want to pursue in music as a career?

Write and record everything you can. Play music for yourself and not for others. If you love what you are doing, it will not only make you want to do/write/play more, but others will see that passion in you and gravitate towards your style of music! (Of course it doesn't hurt if you can play well too lol). Don’t quit your day job!. Through all of our years playing and touring in bands, we have always had day jobs. You need money to pay for all the gear you want and success does not come overnight. It takes perseverance and dedication. You need to be able to (and want to) invest every waking moment to your music.

5. Where did you guys get the idea for the name of your band?

Well... that comes from years of incarceration in various institutions, such as: Juvenile hall, prison, mental asylums… you name it! Actually, in the beginning, we could not come up with a name that was not already taken! So we said "screw it", this will do (haha).

6. What do you guys want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?

We are all big goofballs. We love to joke around and have fun. We love hanging out and meeting new people everywhere we go. So if you see us out somewhere, just come up and talk to us. We are super appreciative of everyone who comes out to a show, wears one of our shirts, posts on facebook about us, and who just happens to be in the bar where we are playing. We do not consider fans "fans". They are more like good friends we get to see at the shows! We like to make it a party and get everyone involved. That is what we live for. Those 45 magical minutes that we get to go on stage and play our hearts out for our friends.

7.
What are you guys thinking before you go on stage?

 "Don’t fuck it up!"

You can't put a hold on Restrayned's epic performances at their shows because they are true talent. SO GO LIKE THEIR BAND PAGE!!!!

Interview with Lie in Ruins!!!

Here are the members of the band:

Joseph - Vox
Adam - Guitar
Lucas - Guitar
Armando - Bass
Skyler - Drums

Below are the questions I asked them, plus their group responces:

1. What inspired you guys to play music?

What inspired us to play music is the freedom of creativity and how we can create beauty in the concept of music.

2. How has music changed your life?

Music has changed our life drastically. we play and jam everyday. It has brought our band more closer together and we have become brothers because of it :).

3. What bands do you guys listen to and how have they influenced your music?

Like Moths to Flames,In Dying Arms, For The Fallen Dreams,Frank Sinatra,Nat King Cole... and other orchestral arrangements.

4. What advice do you guys have for others that want to pursue music as their career?

Basically practice, practice, practice and a whole lot of commitment.

5. Where did you guys get the idea for the name of you band?

My uncle helped us out with that (haha)

6. What do you guys want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?

We play Yugioh. Trade and Duel Us if you dare (haha).

7. What do you guys think when you are on stage?

AdamI feel this weird ache in my stomach, like it is gonna explode. I start to sweat, heart racing, and I have to take a (sorry for the detail) huge dump (haha).

Lucas- I have a huge adrenaline rush and feel like everything could go great or horribly wrong.

Skyler- I begin too get slight anxiety and ponder the worst case scenarios. I try my best to avoid all technical difficulties by tightening all parts of my equipment. Usually after the first song all stress is lifted. Imagine successfully traveling to the West Indies and wrestling Booker T in a pit of basket weaving monks.

Joseph
- Before every show I just feel scared and I hope that everybody likes us. I usually have the bubble guts, but it always goes away after we play our first song.

Lie in Ruins are not shy about their unique style of music and if you wanna taste their sense of metal, then be prepared to be lifted to greater heights because of them. I have never heard such amazing metal music till I took 5 minutes of my time to listen to them. Go like their page and see what I am talking about :)

Interview with The Spin Room!!!

The Spin Room is a solo project done by the one and only:

Nick Miley

Here are the questions I asked him and below are his responses:

1. What inspired you to play music?

I wanted to make music that would make my fans smile & be happy :)!!! I also wanted to write music that my fans could relate too. I try to achieve that everyday. My girlfriend also inspires me, everytime I look into her eyes I swear I could write 20 new hit songs!!!!
2. How has music changed your life?

It has honestly made me a stronger person. The music industry is a very tough business so you have to learn to stay strong & motivated, plus always keep your head up through it all.
3. What advice do you have for others that want to pursue music as their career?

To stay positive, motivated & hardworking through it all.
4. Where did you get the idea for the name of The Spin Room?

I picked up a copy of Spin and I saw Vampire Weekend on the front page. They were realizable new at the time. I thought to my self they really like bands with indie names, but if I was the editor of Spin I would want to promote a band that reminded people of my magazine. That's how I came up with The Spin Room.
5. If you could describe your life in one word what would it be and why?

A Dream. I get to do what I love everyday & I get to share it with the person I love most in this world.

6. What are you thinking when you go on stage?

I am usually thinking about putting a smile on my fans faces & trying not to mess up :).
7. What in your music career would you want to change or keep?

I would like to be able to tour more in the future.
8. What do you want your fans to know about you that they might know already?

Just to expect much more from The Spin Room in the future! Yea!!!

Nick created The Spin Room from just an idea in his head and now it is a project that is rapidly growing. You could enjoy this solo musical project if you go to his Facebook page and like it. Maybe help him out by leaving some comments on his songs or just say hi on his Facebook page, just show that you care is all he asks :)!!!

Interview with Eat More Cake!!!!

Here are the members of the band:

Andy Briggs

Georgina White

Alex Lane

Owen Charles

Matt Pearn

Below are the questions and responces are by Matt and Andy:

1. What inspired you guys to play music?

Matt:

I suppose it was a fairly musical household I was raised in. My mum played classical guitar and piano, my dad played folk guitar, plus they both sang in the church choir. I started figuring out melodies on their piano when I was about four, so my parents started me on piano lessons soon after. I took up the trumpet in middle school, then taught myself to play guitar in high school. Next came my first Atari ST and an early music sequencer program and thus the electronic music making started... Musically, the acid house/hardcore music scene of the early nineties first got me tuned into the idea of writing electronic music. I has always figured I would play in more traditional bands before then.

Andy:

I started to play the cello when I was little, but we always had a guitar lying around the house. I found the screeching noise of the cello quite hard to bear. It was the song "Streets of London" that first got me into popular music, but it was not untill the Teenager Ninja Turtles soundtrack that I got into rap music.

2. How has music changed your life?

Matt:

I am not sure. There was not really a time in my life that was 'before music', so I don't think it initiated any kind of major change. However, I think the ability to express yourself through any medium is important. Some people find they can best express themselves through words, others through pictures, and even movement. I am very fortunate to be one of those people that gets to do their emotional out pouring through writing and playing music.
Andy:

It is hard to say really. I have been doing nothing but music for so long. It is definitely made me poorer than I might have been! I think writing songs is a bit like writing a diary because it helps you to remember where you were and what was going on at the time you wrote it.  It is so much hard work, but I love it J  I would not want to do anything else!!!

3. What bands do you guys listen to and how have they shaped your music?

Matt:

Mostly I like to listen to things with a fairly chilled vibe. I like well structured and layered beats, interesting (but musical) chord progressions, and float vocals... The kinds of things I hope people like about some of our tracks. However, I also like more edgy stuff and there is a fairly large place in my heart for riff driven heavier guitar music. Also, soft spots for the nineties hardcore and the mid-nineties Bristol trip-hop scene. To name some individual bands, I am always revisiting the back catalogs of: Hybrid, Groove Armada, Counting Crows, System of a Down and Sufjan Stevens.

Andy:

I like the shuffle beats. Something you can nod your head to and a good harmonic progression, like the Beatles. I like songs that are about stuff, like "Streets of London" or the rap from Ninja Turtles. Many rap songs are terrible because they can't even stay on point for 16 bars, since they just fly off on massive tangents to keep it rhyming. I really liked early Eminem and The Streets. Chicanes are definitely my favorite dance act. Oh and Norah Jones because I Love Norah and Imogen Heap of course.  UK wise I got to say Sway is my favorite but I like what I hear from Wretch 32 so far.

4. What advice do you guys have for others that want to pursue music as their career?

Matt:

Quit your whining!!  Make sure you have positive people around you.  Negative people will just drain your enthusiasm. Spend a bit longer writing your songs. You may have to play them several hundred million times, so make sure they are good. If you are writing something and you think "yeah, that'll do" it probably won't do (haha). There are many bands and artists now, the competition is very fierce.

Andy:

Patience! J Become as multi faced as you can early on (learn new instruments, new techniques, new software, etc). Never stop practicing!!! Remix, produce, DJ, play live on multiple instruments and be prepared to do all of the above for free. Never stop looking for the 'hook' that makes you unique, but don't try too hard to force one. Take every opportunity you get, no matter how small it seems at the time. Repeat until successfulJ.

5. Where did you guys get the idea for the name of your song?

Matt:

It just kind of grew because of our strange naming convention for songs in the early studio days. All our works in progress have unique names and one particular track was called the 'eat more cake mix'. It just kind of stuck. It is better than some of our other sillier working titles; some of our other tracks have had even more interesting names, like 'The Wondering Nameless Gobble Face'. Not sure that would have worked so well as a band name (haha).

Andy:

Once we came up with it, it was too funny to change it.

6. What do you guys want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?

Matt:

I have had my little toes removed, so I can wear winkle pickers more comfortably. I have a brother with the same first name as me. I own an acre of land on the moon and am negotiating with Domino's Pizza about selling them the deeds. Some or all of these facts may or may not be true (haha). It is your job to figure it out and so if you go to one of our shows then you will know what is false and not.
Andy:

Nothing!  They already know too much (haha) J.

7. What do you guys think when you are on stage?

Matt:

Arrangements of our tracks change frequently and the live set up is pretty technically challenging, so my usual thoughts are 'whatever you do Matt, don't forget to push THAT button' or 'don't forget we are only doing 8 bars at the end of that track tonight'. That and 'don't make any MASSIVE and GLARING mistakes that make you look like a dick.' (haha)

Andy:

I'm usually pretty amped up before we go on stage. It allows me to be loud and obnoxious in a controlled environment.
Check out Eat More Cake!!!: The EP is amazing and if you guys are true music fans then you will not want to miss listening to their EP!!!!

Interview with Admonish!!!!

Here are the members of the band and their facebook page links ;) :

Below are Keith and James responces to my questions:

1. What inspired you guys to play music?

Keith: Growing up I would watch Slipknot, Korn and Snoop Dogg on MTV along with the other big acts from the late 90's and early 2000. As I kept getting older I developed a love for it!!! I went to some local shows here and there, thus from then on playing music and performing in front of people has been my passion :)

James: Local shows. I went to one called 'Four Story Massacre' and that changed everything for me. From that point on, I knew what I wanted to do :)

2. How has music changed your life?

Keith: In all honesty it keeps me sane. Music makes any situation for me better.

James:
Too many ways (haha). I mainly would say the underage girls.

3. What bands do you guys listen to and how have they shaped your music?

Keith: I mostly listen to: rap, Slipknot, The Acacia Strain, Gallows, Whitechapel, and Suicide Silence have influenced me as a vocalist.

James:
This is the hardest question :) Mainly: The Acacia Strain, Demolisher, and Slipknot. You can tell my influences when I play.
4. What advice do you guys have for others that want to pursue in music as their career?

Keith: You have got to have a passion for it and don't do it because you think you are going to get girls and money. Hard work equals success!!!

James: If you are wanting music as a career for money, then you have chosen the wrong career. Go get a real job, like a doctor or lawyer. Want music as a career because you love it.

Untill music pays my bills, it is not a career. Just an awesome hobby where I get to do what I love.
5. Where did you guys get the idea for the name of your band?

Keith: Our old drummer, Caleb Johnson came up with the name in his English class because it was one of his vocabulary words, so it stuck.

James:
I think one of our old members came up with it (haha) they learned a new word in English class and that is where it came about. Whenever our band came back earlier this year from a hiatus, we kept it because it was a familiar name already in our area.
6. What do you want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?

James: We are taking a break from local shows soon. We are going to be writing a fresh new set, hitting the studio, and doing all that fun band business!!!!. We are also breaking the new drummer in, moving up to seven strings, and there is another surprise on the way. I just can't say what that surprise is just yet..yay!!! So be ready for our return, expect a new sound.
7. What is racing through your mind before you guys go on stage?

Keith: Awwww here it goes

James: Usually I am wondering where the water is. Once I find water I am just ready to see some violence and play our set. I am ready for everyone to have a good time when we are up there.

Dylan: We are the shit, I'm the shit, my boys are the shit. Not to be cocky, but there is no faster way to fire yourself up.

Braxton:
I know that I am representing God, so I want to look and sound as great as I possibly can. I am usually accompanied by nervousness too. I want to give people what they pay for: a show.

Jesse:
Oh shit, it is going down again.

Like their page and I am sure they will like you forever and ever!!!!!<3:

Interview with ToTheArk!!!

Here are the members of the band:

Drewsif Stalin (Andrew Reynolds)
Ryan McNamara
John Puglia
Jay Pritsker
Danny Zawodny

Here are the questions I asked them and below are their group responses:

1. What inspired you guys to play music?

Ryan and John actually started their instruments (guitar and drums) only a year or two before the earliest forms of TTA developed. Danny, Drew, and Jay have all been playing music since for a long....long time. We were all big fans of metal when we were younger. We went to shows all the time to see our favorite bands and such, we totally idolized those guys. Playing on stage is every metal head's dream. So for John and to some extent: Ryan, love of metal caused us to start playing in the first place. For those of us who already played, our interest in metal shifted our direction. Basically, we started playing music cause we loved it and we wanted to be able to play it ourselves.

2. How has mucis changed your life?

Music is a great emotional outlet. Playing and listening to it feels good. It is a great stress reliever and very important to all of us in that regard. For Drew, music is basically his whole life. He is a producer as well as a player, so that is a whole other level. It is definitely a huge part of all of us. We all love music in general and hope it stays a big part of our lives.
3. What bands do you guys like to listen to and how have they shaped your music?

There are way too many to list, honestly. You have the obvious ones like: Meshuggah, Tesseract, Periphery, all of the big ones. We draw on a lot of different types of music in our writing. You can hear influence from the big iconic bands like we mentioned before, but we take from music all across the spectrum. There are parts of our songs that have a lot of post-rock influence, djent influence, deathcore/metalcore, and so on. We all like a lot of stuff, so it finds its way into the music (haha).

4. What advice do you guys have for others that want to pursue in music?

Work, work, work, and more work. Nothing will be handed to you and in today's industry people are only going to take notice of you if you give them a reason to and put yourself out there enough. Above all, make music you love and are proud of, never give up because it is not going to be easy.

5. Where did you guys gte the idea for the name of your band?

We have been trying to come up with a good name for the band for a while and were having some trouble settling on one. Drew and Jay are big fans of the YouTube series: Marble Hornets and after writing the song "Turn, Look, Run." based on the Slender Man mythos, they suggested the name “ToTheArk” from one of the channels owned by the Marble Hornets Team. We thought it was a cool name and we definitely liked that it is a little bit different from the names you typically come across in our genre. Pretty much everyone was on board with that name right away, so it was painless (haha).

6. What do you guys want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?

We were all friends long before the formation of TTA. Many people say that you can't have a band with your friends and it does present its own unique set of issues, but we love it. We have not had any real problems resulting from us being friends. We think playing music you love with your best friends is a pretty good deal!
7. What do you guys think when you are on stage?
Jay: Before the show, I tend to get pretty nervous. I always worry about forgetting lyrics, not performing my best, my singing/screaming/growling not sounding as good as I want, or not being energetic enough. When I finally get on stage and Drew starts up the first click track for John, it all goes away. I let myself loose. I act as if I am in the crowd for one of my favorite bands and that is why I am always all over the stage jumping and stomping around.

Ryan: Personally my mind is pretty blank and just focused on the music, so that I am putting on a good show.
John: I am usually a little nervous and just generally excited. Once we start, the whole set is like a crazy adrenaline ride. I actually have a lot of trouble remembering most shows because my brain is so hyped up while we are playing. I don't think about anything except my click track, for the most part. Sometimes I take notice when the crowd is especially lively or something, but it is mostly all about playing.

Drew: It is business time.
Danny: While we are setting up I usually have some butterflies and start worrying about screwing up, unplugging myself, running into Jay, falling over, pretty much every disaster scenario. Right before we start I close my eyes and take a deep breath because I am just trying to focus. Then it is just about the music and how to put on the most fun show for everyone watching.

ToTheArk is a very creative band, in that they all are best friends and are in a band because they love music, so they want people to be in love with music as they are. Such kind people to think of the fans and not themselves :). So like their page, go to their show, and if you do all this then they will love you forever... and ever :)

Interview with Cherry Tree!!!

Here are the members of the band:

Evan Warner (Singer)
Kevin Conlon (Guitarist)
Caroline Browning (Bassist)

Here are the questions and below are the group responses:

1. What inspired you guys to play music?

We have all been playing instruments since we were very young, ranging from piano...trombone to violin, etc. As soon as we reached our teens, we started to branch out to rock instruments like guitar, bass and drums. Music from the 70's really set the parameters for our inspiration to begin jamming and rocking out.
2. How has music changed your life?

Music has not necessarily changed our life's at all, simply because it has always been there. We will say that a life without music would be terribly boring, since we are always playing it and when we are not playing it, we are thinking about playing it. Music is essential for us!!!

3. What bands do you guys listen to and how have they shaped your music?

Led Zeppelin is definitely our favorite band, although we really try to make our music our own. We have found it is best to not try to copy your heroes, but play your own music. Influences are obviously going to make its way into our songs naturally, but we don't sit down and write songs specifically to sound like any one group. We also listen to artists like Jimi Hendrix, Jack White, The Strokes, The Doors, etc. (haha) the list could go on forever.

4. What advice do you have for others that want to pursue in music?

Keep on pushing and never give up. Giving up on your dreams is basically giving up on yourself!!!!
5. Where did you guys get the idea for the name of your band?

Kevin our guitarist bought his first guitar between his freshman and sophomore year in high school. The guitar is an Epiphone Dot and the color of it is cherry red. Thus, he named his guitar Cherry. So the word cherry was already in our minds when it was time to think of a band name. We went through countless ideas of names as all bands do, but we eventually brought the idea of Cherry Tree. The name really just rang a bell to our ears and it has been the name ever since :)
6. What do you want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?

We like to shoot zombies and play pool, but only if we are dancing while doing so.
7. What are you thinking about when you are on stage?

Evan (singer): I am just hoping the crowd will like us :)

Kevin (guitarist): I think about my solos because they are my time to shine. So I want to make them perfect!

Caroline (bassist): I think about the challenging parts in the music so I can be as solid as I can to put on a good show!

Cherry Tree is looking for a drummer and so any drummer out there that wants to be a part of something big, you better like their page and send them a message that you want to be on the team!!! Being a part of Cherry Tree means that you are part of a family that loves music for what it is, not what it brings to artist wallets :)

Interview with We Brought The Matches!!!

Here are the members of the band:

Michael Kegl: Lead Vocals

John Clement: Bass

Dustin Burrell: Guitar

Devin Murphy: Guitar/Keyboard

Jack Geshel: Drums

Here are the questions I asked each band member and below are their individual responses:

Dustin Burrell (Guitar):
1. What inspired you to play music?

What really got me into music was seeing our drummer's uncle and his band play in there little place they practiced. Seeing them play and how much fun they had really made me want too live like that and play music for people everywhere.

2. How has music changed your life?

Before music, I don’t think I had many ideas of what I wanted to do when I got older. After getting into music, it has opened up a lot of opportunities and goals I can now go towards. Music has definitely changed my life for the better.

3. What bands do you listen to and how have they shaped your music?

I listen to a good variety of music and it has really changed the way I have played. The music I listen too can range from super hardcore bands like “Born of Osiris” too stuff that is out there like “Cage the Elephant". It has shaped our music because all of us I think have different styles and bands we listen too, so with that we have combined what we know into the genre we have now.

4. What advice would you give people that want to pursue music as their career?

The advice I would like to give is just keep going at it, no matter what anyone says. Always follow your dreams and don’t stop because you CAN get there and be what you want too be. It will take a lot of time and effort, but if you play your cards right you will get there.

5.  (Group response) : Where did you guys get the idea for the name of your band?

To be honest we all just kinda picked band names and we thought that "We Brought the Matches" sounded the best :)

6.  What do you want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?

Well when I first started playing guitar, it was when guitar hero came out. I played guitar left handed and when I played guitar hero for the first time I did not know there was a lefty switch, so it made me switch to play guitar right handed. So now I can actually somewhat play left handed (haha).

7. What do you think when you are on stage?

A lot of cars (haha). Actually before I get on stage I am usually really excited and I just get this HUGE rush too where I just want to get up there and do what we do!!!

Michael Kegl (Lead Vocals):
1. What inspired you to play music?

When I was 8 my dad took me to Sam goodies and told me to pick out a guitar, so I got a black epiphone and an amp. After I got home, I was stoked to play but shortly after my mom took away my amp. After that I just wanted to play and I guess that urge carried on through my life (haha).

2. How has music changed your life?

After I joined my first band I felt like I had found my calling in life and it has given me a reason to live.

3. What bands do you listen to and how have they shaped your music?

The bands that have really shaped how I play are: adtr, fall out boy, the ramones, sex pistols, and weezer.

4. What advice do you have for others that want to pursue music as their career?

Every chance you get to play take it even if it is a small show, just get your stuff out there you know!!!

5. See Dustin's Response for this question because it was a group response!!!

6. What do you want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?

I am not a dick!!! (haha)

7. What do you think about when you are on stage?

Nothing usually races in my mind right before I play. I try to get in a state of nirvana :)

Devin Murphy (Guitar/Keyboard):

1. What inspired you to play music?

One 4th of July weekend several years back, me and my dad went up to New York to his friends house and there was this huge party and 10 different bands played, they were all awesome. Seeing all of them perform and how their energy just made the crowd go wild really inspired me to want to play!!!

2. How has music shaped your life?

Music occupies the majority of my free time, whether it be listening to it or playing it and it is always there.

3. What bands do you listen to and how have they shaped your music?

Extreme, Avenged Sevenfold, John Mayer, My Chemical Romance, Queen, and We The Kings. It is a weird combination of artists, but all of them have influenced me in how and what I play.

4. What advice do you have for bands that want to pursue music as their career?

Nothings gonna happen like magic, if you want it you gotta work for it. Do what you love and love what you do.

5. See Dustin's Response for this question because it was a group response!!!

6. What do you want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?

Even though I mainly play the guitar in WBTM, I am actually much more adept as a piano player!!!

7. What is going through your mind when you are on stage?

Usually a bit nervous at first, but after the first minute or so into it I get really pumped up and it is an awesome feeling :)

John Clement (Bass):
1. What inspired you to play music?

More then anything my main inspiration for playing music was my best friend: Dustin. We would always hangout and do things together because we wanted to start a band together. I did not know how to play anything really, except a few years back. I started learning to play bass, but never had any motivation until I met him.

2. How has music changed your life?

Music has changed my life in that before I started playing I did not really know what I wanted to do with my life and after we started this band I knew I wanted music to be a major part of my everyday life :)

3. What bands do you listen to and how have they shaped your music?

Some of the bands that shaped my music playing is probably: A Day To Remember, Set Your Goals, and The Kooks, being that they are all different genres of music that I enjoy listening to, plus I try to incorporate there playing styles into our music.

4. What advice do you have for others that want to pursue in music?

The advice I have would be to take in the bad things you hear and work on them, in order to get better. I have not been playing all that long and when I hear someone say something bad I take it in as a challenge, by trying to make myself better :)

5. See Dustin's Response for this question because it was a group response!!!

6. What do you want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?

Something my fans probably don't know about me is that I am Straight Edge, which is a life choice where you don't do use any form of tobacco, you never drink any alcohol and you never do any sort of drugs.

7. What do you think about when you are on stage?

Before I go on stage, I always get a little nervous and hope I don't mess up. As soon as I get up there and we start playing I just feel the music and let all my worries go away!!!

5. See Dustin's Response for this question because it was a group response!!!

I saved floppy gooses with a red crayon (haha).
