Interview with Cherry Tree!!!

Here are the members of the band:

Here are the questions and below are the group responses:

1. What inspired you guys to play music?

We have all been playing instruments since we were very young, ranging from piano...trombone to violin, etc. As soon as we reached our teens, we started to branch out to rock instruments like guitar, bass and drums. Music from the 70's really set the parameters for our inspiration to begin jamming and rocking out.
2. How has music changed your life?

Music has not necessarily changed our life's at all, simply because it has always been there. We will say that a life without music would be terribly boring, since we are always playing it and when we are not playing it, we are thinking about playing it. Music is essential for us!!!

3. What bands do you guys listen to and how have they shaped your music?

Led Zeppelin is definitely our favorite band, although we really try to make our music our own. We have found it is best to not try to copy your heroes, but play your own music. Influences are obviously going to make its way into our songs naturally, but we don't sit down and write songs specifically to sound like any one group. We also listen to artists like Jimi Hendrix, Jack White, The Strokes, The Doors, etc. (haha) the list could go on forever.

4. What advice do you have for others that want to pursue in music?

Keep on pushing and never give up. Giving up on your dreams is basically giving up on yourself!!!!
5. Where did you guys get the idea for the name of your band?

Kevin our guitarist bought his first guitar between his freshman and sophomore year in high school. The guitar is an Epiphone Dot and the color of it is cherry red. Thus, he named his guitar Cherry. So the word cherry was already in our minds when it was time to think of a band name. We went through countless ideas of names as all bands do, but we eventually brought the idea of Cherry Tree. The name really just rang a bell to our ears and it has been the name ever since :)
6. What do you want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?

We like to shoot zombies and play pool, but only if we are dancing while doing so.
7. What are you thinking about when you are on stage?

Evan (singer): I am just hoping the crowd will like us :)

Kevin (guitarist): I think about my solos because they are my time to shine. So I want to make them perfect!

Caroline (bassist): I think about the challenging parts in the music so I can be as solid as I can to put on a good show!
