Interview with Louis Matos (Vocals, Drums, Keys) and Nick Matos (Guitar, Backing Vocals, Bass) from The Great Valley

Here are the questions I asked each of the band members:
1. what inspired you to play music?
2. how has music changed your life?
3. what bands do you listen to and how have they shaped your music?
4. what advice do you have for others that want to pursue in music as their career?
5. where did you get the idea for the name of your band?
6. what do you want your fans to know about you that they might not know already?
7. what is racing your mind before you go on stage?
This is how Louis and Nick Matos responded:

1. We were inspired by two things: 1. Our parents because they are musicians and we grew up around it. 2. We had a venue up the street growing up where we got to see some of the most amazing underground touring bands for our time. We just wanted to be like them so much!!!

2. Music has taken us down a path of hard work, dedication and sacrifice. It really helped mold us and give us character. It's not a business for the weak at heart. You have to really want this to succeed.

3.Some of the most influential bands for us would be: Blink 182, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Green Day, New Found Glory, The Starting Line, The Early November, Notorious BIG, Tupac, Boys Night Out & Coheed & Cambria. They were all just doing something different, but it a big way. They had their own sound and their own vibe which helped us find ours.

4. Watch other bands. Don't copy them, but just see what they're doing to get out there and play in front of people. Everyone's story is different and so make your own.
5. The movie "Land Before Time" haha "The Great Valley" in the movie is where the characters are trying to get to in the end. Our mom would make pop corn when we were kids and let us watch it over and over again. So it would be a great way to honor her the bigger and bigger this gets. Our parents really keep us going to fueling us to be better people.
6. Nick & I want our own video game with us as characters. We would just destroying everything in site! haha it would be awesome.

7. Just praying that this will be the best performance to date. We only want to continue to progress and get better at our craft.
